Dear Distinguished Guests, Rotarians, Rotaractors, spouses and friends,

My sincerest welcome to all of you to join our 61st District Conference this year. It has been a challenging year for everyone in the World. I am so grateful to be with all of you and witness how Rotarian help creates lasting changes especially helping those people affected by the Pandemic.  The District Conference is the occasion that all of us gather after a whole year of hard work and we can share our experiences of helping the needed. 

While we are meeting together, we always remember our core value and the 4-way test.  Among the core values, Diversity is emphasized many times by Rotary International President Holger.  Rotary aims to create an organisation that is inclusive to all.  We are all different and we try our best to learn from different perspectives among others.

This year we collaborated with our Rotaract to have a joint Conference as we wish to exchange ideas and collaborate in the future. Thank you very much District Representative Alan Yip for his unwavering support. We are expecting many Rotarians and Rotaractors to join us to celebrate the elevation of Rotaract. There is still a lot to discuss about the change of status and the way forward.

We are going to have our three District Focus this year, namely Health, Support Environment and Peace to be the main theme of the conference. We should conclude what we have done so far in each of the three areas.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chairlady Cassy Cheng and the organising committee for their great effort in making it an extraordinary experience for all of us. It is difficult to plan for District Conference amid the Pandemic. We aim to take every precaution to reduce the risk. We strive to achieve the balance to get everybody together provided that it is safe for all. I am looking forward to seeing all of you.
